Community Guidelines
Dec 30, 2024
Welcome to Coinkidink! We are a matchmaking and networking platform, and our goal is to foster a respectful, safe, and welcoming environment for all users. These Community Guidelines explain the behavior expected on our platform and help ensure everyone feels secure and respected while connecting with others. By using Coinkidink, you agree to follow these rules, which protect our community and align with UK laws and online safety standards. We believe that by adhering to these guidelines, every member can enjoy a positive experience on Coinkidink.
Why we have these guidelines: Coinkidink is a Christian company with strong values of respect, kindness, and integrity. We welcome people from all walks of life who are interested in making meaningful connections. These guidelines are here to make clear what is acceptable behavior and what isn’t. They apply to all content and interactions on Coinkidink – including your profile, messages, and any posts or comments. Thank you for taking the time to read them and for helping us maintain a friendly community for everyone!
Code of Conduct
Our Code of Conduct is simple but important. It outlines how we expect members to behave towards one another. By following this code, you help create an environment where everyone can interact without fear of abuse or discrimination. Here are the key principles:
Treat Others with Respect and Dignity: Always interact with fellow users in a polite and courteous manner. Healthy disagreements or differences of opinion are fine, but name-calling, personal attacks, or belittling comments are not acceptable. Before posting or messaging, consider how your words might affect someone else. Kindness and respect go a long way in building a great community.
No Harassment or Discrimination: Coinkidink has zero tolerance for harassment, bullying, or discrimination of any kind. You must not engage in racist, sexist, homophobic, transphobic, or otherwise derogatory behavior. This includes slurs, insults, or jokes targeting someone’s race, ethnicity, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, religion, disability, or any other personal characteristic. Harassing or abusing someone – even in a “joking” way – is strictly forbidden. Remember that abuse or hate toward someone because of who they are isn’t just against our rules; in many cases, it’s illegal under UK law.
Christian Company Values (Inclusivity and Beliefs): Coinkidink is proud of its Christian foundation and values. As a Christian-run company, we do not promote LGBTQ+ agendas on our platform. However, we want to be very clear: we welcome all users to Coinkidink, regardless of background, beliefs, or orientation, as long as everyone abides by these guidelines with mutual respect. We expect every member to respect one another. This means that while the platform itself may not endorse certain viewpoints, no user should ever be mistreated or excluded for who they are. Every person is entitled to courtesy and dignity. In practice, this means you should be considerate and kind in your interactions, even with people who may have different beliefs or lifestyles than your own.
Prohibited Content & Behavior
To keep Coinkidink safe and enjoyable, certain types of content and activities are strictly prohibited. Posting or engaging in the following will result in action from our moderation team. Please avoid these behaviors:
Hate Speech, Threats & Harassment: We do not allow any content that promotes hatred, violence, or harassment toward individuals or groups. Hate speech (attacks or slurs against someone’s ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, etc.), threatening language, or any form of personal harassment is banned. For example, you may not use derogatory epithets or encourage harm against anyone. Platforms like Coinkidink (and indeed most social networks) ban such hateful content to foster an inclusive community. Be respectful in your comments and conversations – if it’s something that would make someone feel unsafe or abused, do not say it.
Explicit or Sexual Content: Coinkidink is not a place for pornography or sexually explicit material. Do not post nudity, graphic sexual descriptions, or sexually suggestive images/videos. We aim to keep the platform PG-rated and comfortable for all users. Content that is overly sexual or inappropriate will be removed. For instance, sending lewd or indecent messages or images to someone is not allowed. Other major dating apps and social platforms follow this same standard. Keep your content and interactions clean and respectful.
Misleading Investment Advice or Scams: Because Coinkidink involves networking (and many of our users may have shared interests like finance or cryptocurrency), it’s crucial to stay honest and refrain from any fraudulent activities. Do not use the platform to scam others – this includes posting false or misleading investment tips, get-rich-quick schemes, or any form of fraud. You should never promise guaranteed returns or trick people into sending you money or cryptocurrency. For example, attempting to deceive someone with a fake investment opportunity or a phony coin offering is strictly prohibited. Such behavior can result in an immediate ban. Always be truthful and transparent; if it sounds like a scam or an unverified financial promise, it doesn’t belong on Coinkidink.
Unauthorized Commercial Promotions & Spam: Coinkidink is for personal connections, not for unsolicited advertising or spam. Do not repeatedly send unwanted messages, advertisements, or solicitations to other users. This includes mass messaging multiple people with the same content, posting referral links or affiliate promotions without permission, or trying to sell products/services to people who haven’t asked for it. Additionally, you may not impersonate Coinkidink staff or run unauthorized contests or giveaways on the platform. We want genuine interactions, not spam or clutter. If you have a legitimate service or event to share, seek permission from Coinkidink staff first. Otherwise, promotional spam will be removed and may result in your account being restricted.
Promotion of Unsafe Financial Practices: Any content that encourages reckless or unsafe financial behavior is not allowed. We care about our users’ wellbeing, so we prohibit advice or posts that push people toward financially dangerous actions. For example, do not encourage others to share their bank details or crypto wallet keys, invest money they can’t afford to lose, or engage in illegal financial schemes. Also, do not glorify gambling your savings on high-risk investments or any activity that could seriously jeopardize someone’s finances. Users should help each other make wise decisions, not dangerous ones. If you’re discussing financial topics, do so in a responsible and ethical manner. Misuse of the platform to promote harmful financial practices will be stopped.
(Keep in mind that any illegal content is absolutely forbidden as well. This includes things like incitement of violence, child exploitation material, or anything else outlawed by UK law. If something is illegal offline, it’s illegal on Coinkidink too. We will remove and report such content to the authorities as required.)
User Interactions & Safety
Your safety online and offline is extremely important to us. Coinkidink is designed for meeting new people, but it’s vital to use common sense and caution in your interactions. Here are some guidelines to help you stay safe while using our platform and when moving interactions off-platform:
Protect Your Sensitive Financial Information: Never share your cryptocurrency “seed phrase,” private wallet keys, or any financial account passwords with anyone. No legitimate user, moderator, or staff member will ever ask you for these. Scammers, however, may attempt to trick you into revealing such information. For example, someone might pretend to be tech support or a trustworthy friend to get your 12- or 24-word recovery phrase – but remember, if someone gets that phrase, they can steal your funds. The golden rule in the crypto world (and on Coinkidink) is: never ever share your wallet’s recovery phrase or private keys. Stay vigilant against phishing attempts or “too good to be true” offers. If another user asks for financial information or login credentials, report them immediately (this is a major red flag for fraud).
Share Personal Information Carefully: When chatting with new people, only share personal details at your own pace and comfort level. You are in control of what you disclose. It’s perfectly okay to keep certain information private, such as your full name, address, workplace, or phone number, until you fully trust someone. We advise against posting personal contact info publicly on your profile. If someone is pushing you for personal data that you’re not ready to give (like your home address or family details), you have every right to say no. Always remember that once you share information, you can’t take it back – so be sure you’re comfortable and have built enough trust. Use Coinkidink’s messaging platform for initial conversations; don’t feel pressured to move to other apps or give out your number unless you want to. Your privacy matters.
Be Cautious with In-Person Meetings: Meeting someone from Coinkidink in real life can be exciting, but safety comes first. If you decide to meet, take steps to ensure the person is who they claim to be and always meet in a public place for the first time. Before meeting, you might do a few things for verification: chat via video call, check their social media (if available) to see that they have a consistent identity, or simply continue talking via the app until you feel you know them well enough. When you do meet:
Meet in a public space. Choose a busy, public location like a cafe, restaurant, or shopping center – somewhere with other people around. This provides a safer setting for both of you. Do not agree to meet at someone’s home or in a very isolated place for your first meeting. Public places help ensure your safety.
Tell someone you trust. It’s a good idea to inform a friend or family member about your plans – let them know when and where you’re meeting and who the person is (you could share the profile or name). This isn’t being paranoid; it’s a sensible precaution. You might even arrange to check in with your friend at a certain time during the date to let them know all is well.
Keep control of your transportation. Whenever possible, use your own transportation to get to and from the meeting, or otherwise plan your ride. This way, you can leave if you want to, and you’re not dependent on someone you just met for a ride.
Trust your instincts. If something feels off during your conversation or meeting – for example, if the person isn’t who they described themselves to be, or they are making you uncomfortable – you have the right to end the interaction. Excuse yourself and leave. Your safety and comfort are more important than avoiding awkwardness.
By following these precautions, you can enjoy meeting new people through Coinkidink while staying safe. We encourage friendliness but always prioritize your personal safety.
Moderation & Enforcement
Coinkidink’s team monitors the platform and enforces these Community Guidelines to protect our users. We hope never to have to discipline anyone, but if the rules are broken, here’s what you can expect:
Investigation and Temporary Suspension: When a report is made or a violation is detected, our moderation team will investigate the issue. During this process, we may temporarily suspend the user’s account. A suspension is a precaution that prevents activity (so no further harm can occur) while we review what happened. The suspended user will be notified that they are under investigation. For example, if we receive multiple reports that someone is sending harassing messages, we might suspend that account while we look into the chat logs. Suspension is not a final judgment, but it helps keep the platform safe during the review.
Warnings or Education: Not every violation will result in a ban. For minor or first-time issues, we might issue a warning or a reminder about the guidelines. We understand that sometimes people make mistakes or might not realize something was against the rules. In such cases, we’ll reach out to explain what went wrong and what change is expected. The user will be able to continue using Coinkidink as long as the problematic behavior stops immediately. Repeated minor violations, however, will escalate consequences over time.
Permanent Bans for Serious or Repeat Violations: If a user repeatedly breaks the rules despite warnings, or if a single violation is especially severe, Coinkidink may issue a permanent ban. A ban means the user’s account is terminated – they will be logged out, and blocked from creating new accounts. Severe violations include things like: posting hate speech or explicit content after being told not to, engaging in scams or fraud, threatening violence, or any behavior that we determine causes serious harm to the community. We do not take banning lightly, but our priority is to keep Coinkidink safe and respectful for everyone. Users who show they cannot or will not follow these guidelines will lose access to the platform.
Content Removal: Coinkidink reserves the right to remove any content that violates these Community Guidelines (or our Terms of Service) at any time, without prior notice. If you post something that breaks the rules, don’t be surprised if it gets deleted. We might remove content proactively if we spot it, or after a user reports it. We may also remove content that, even if not outright against a rule, we deem inappropriate for the platform’s ethos. This removal is at our discretion and is done to maintain the health of the community. In general, if you follow the guidelines, you shouldn’t have to worry about this. But if your post or message disappears and it violated a guideline, that is likely why.
(Note: If necessary, Coinkidink may also report certain behaviors or content to law enforcement or other authorities. For instance, credible threats of violence, evidence of criminal activity, or any situation where someone’s safety is at risk could be forwarded to the police. We will cooperate with law enforcement as required by law.)
Reporting Violations
We rely on our community to help us enforce these guidelines. If you see something, say something. Reporting problems helps us keep Coinkidink safe and fair. We’ve made the reporting process straightforward:
How to Report: If you encounter content or behavior that violates these guidelines – for example, someone sends you a harassing message, or you notice a suspicious profile that might be a scam – please report it to us right away. Coinkidink provides easy, in-app tools to report abuse. Usually, you can find a “Report” button or link on a user’s profile or next to a specific message/content. Clicking that will send a report directly to our moderation team. If for some reason you can’t use the in-app reporting tool, you can also send us an email with the details of the issue. Our official email for reporting or support is operations@coinkidinkapp.com. Make sure to include relevant information (such as the username of the person you’re reporting, and a description or screenshot of the problematic content) so we can quickly understand and act on the problem. We aim to have clear and accessible reporting channels, in line with best practices for online platforms.
Confidentiality and Privacy of Reports: All reports will be handled confidentially. This means we will not reveal your identity to the person you reported, or to anyone outside our moderation team. We understand it can be uncomfortable to report someone, so we want you to feel safe in coming forward. Any personal information you provide in a report is kept private. Even if we need to address the issue publicly or with the affected parties, we will anonymize details of who reported it. (The only exception might be if a legal authority requires that information, but generally, your privacy is assured.) So, you can report in confidence, knowing you will not be dragged into drama or exposed for doing the right thing.
What Happens After You Report: Our moderation team reviews each report as quickly as possible. We will evaluate the evidence (such as message logs or posts) and determine if the Community Guidelines were violated. Based on our findings, we will take appropriate action – this could range from issuing a warning to the offending user, removing content, or suspending/banning the account as described in the Moderation & Enforcement section above. If we need more information from you (the reporter) to investigate, we may reach out, but otherwise you might not always receive a detailed update due to privacy. Please know that every report is taken seriously. We appreciate you looking out for the community. By reporting bad behavior, you’re helping us make Coinkidink better for everyone.
(Important: We also prohibit false reporting. Do not maliciously report someone just because you disagree with them or to retaliate unfairly. Misusing the report system can itself be a violation of the guidelines. We want the report feature to be used in good faith to address genuine problems.)
Governing Law
Coinkidink is based in the United Kingdom, and thus these Community Guidelines are governed by UK law. What does this mean? In essence, using Coinkidink isn’t a lawless activity – all users must abide by the laws of the United Kingdom while on our platform. If something is illegal in the UK (for example, credible threats of violence, incitement of hatred, sharing of illegal pornography, fraud, etc.), it is not allowed on Coinkidink. UK legislation – such as the Online Safety Act 2023 – requires platforms to protect users from illegal content like hate speech or content provoking violence, and we take those obligations seriously. We will remove content and act against users who engage in unlawful behavior in accordance with these laws.
By using Coinkidink, you agree that English/UK law will apply to any disputes or matters arising from your use of the platform or these guidelines. If ever there is a legal dispute, claim, or issue, it will be dealt with under the jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales (since our company is registered in England). We mention this to be transparent and to remind everyone that the standards we uphold aren’t just our own—they’re backed by the law. Ultimately, our aim is simply to ensure that Coinkidink is a lawful, safe space. As long as you follow the rules in this document and use common sense, you will be well within both our guidelines and the law.
Changes to the Guidelines
From time to time, we may need to update or modify these Community Guidelines to adapt to new situations, features, or legal requirements. Coinkidink reserves the right to change these guidelines at any time. However, if we make significant changes, we will do our best to inform you. We might send out an email notification, put a message on our website/app, or otherwise alert users to the update. We encourage you to review these guidelines periodically, but we will not make major policy changes in secret. Your continued use of Coinkidink after any changes means you accept the updated rules.
In case of minor tweaks or clarifications that do not substantially alter the meaning of the guidelines, we may update the document without a broad announcement, but the latest version will always be available on our website (and usually noted with an "effective date" at the top). If you ever have questions or concerns about any changes, please contact us. We value feedback from our community.
(In short: The rules here might evolve as our community grows and the digital landscape changes. We’ll keep you in the loop when big changes happen. And no matter what changes, our core commitment to respect, safety, and legality will remain.)
